At my office, we have a menorah on the front desk. I am responsible for lighting it. Should I light it on Friday? Or on Monday for 3 nights? Also, which side do you light from? Thanks!

You can light it on Fri., and then light 3 on Mon.going up to 4 on Tues and so on. You should only make a blessing on the Menorah that you light at home.

Light on Friday and then the rest of the nights for eight nights. Yes. You have to light it at sundown. Light the first candle on the right and then light the king (middle candle.) Go Right to Left. I usually light the rest of the candles with the first candle I light including the king. You're supposed to also recite a prayer for the first few nights while you light the candle.

It's TRADITION.

Chanuka starts Friday night, and goes for 8 days. On every night except for a Friday night, light it anytime after nightfall, preferably before midnight. On Fridays, light it shortly BEFORE nightfall.

Light one candle the first night, starting on the right. Light one more candle each night, for eight nights.
